Joint Introduction Seminar in Hannover
A 3-day workshop organized by the Leibniz University Hannover
The introduction seminar has the aim to get together the whole LANDLABS research team. With interactive workshops, short presentations of the laboratory sites, theoretical background and organisation, all LANDLABS members will have a holistic start in the research project.

Short Scientific Course 1:
Design theories and site analysis methods, hybrid/Ljubljana
A 2-day hybrid-seminar organized by the University of Ljubljana
The first Short Scientific Course offers theoretical knowledge and secures a common level of knowledge based on different design theories, e.g. Systems Design/Living Systems, Framework Design, Urban Acupuncture and Co-Creation methods. In addition, short lectures on methods of site analysis will be offered in relation to the specific field of knowledge.

Reflection Seminar 1 in Porto:
Understanding the sites through theories and the theories through the sites
A 3-day workshop organized by by the University of Porto
During the first reflection seminar, each doctoral candidate will present their current work on the link between one theory and one landscape laboratory site, including research objectives and research questions, followed by feedback from the whole group. Invited experts from the six disciplines, each one chosen by the assigned doctoral candidate, give a presentation on interconnectedness from their discipline´s perspective, which will be discussed and further reflected.

Short Scientific Course 2:
Research Through Design and Landscape laboratory research
A 3-day hybrid-seminar organized by Aarhus School of Architecture
In the second Short Scientific Course, for the start the doctoral candidates present the current state of their work, followed by discussion and feedback by the whole group. Then the course will introduce the doctoral candidates to the central concept of landscape laboratories in relation to design research. This will be done through the introduction of Research through Design (RtD) as a particular mode of research. During the course different approaches to RtD will be discussed.

Tour d’Europe
The “Tour d’Europe” is one of the largest events during the LANDLABS research project, where all six landscape laboratory sites will be visited, investigated and discussed. The “Tour d’Europe” will be the moment where all doctoral candidates, the supervisor group and the associated non-academic partners (in their city), and invited public are brought together.

Short Scientific Course 3:
Design research
A 3-day hybrid-seminar organized by UiT:
At the thirst Short Scientific Course, first of all the doctoral candidates present the current state of their work, followed by discussion and feedback by the whole group. During the course, the doctoral candidates will learn how transferable design strategies can be developed from site specific work, e.g. through design guidelines.
Furthermore, the doctoral candidates will learn how to communicate results from transdisciplinary research/research through design to different target groups e.g. civil society, media groups, as well as to the international academic community.

Reflection Seminar 3 in Vienna:
Transferability & Conference preparation
A 3-day workshop organized by TU Wien
At the beginning of the third reflection seminar, the doctoral candidates will present their current work on the evaluation criteria as well as design scenarios and design strategies for their landscape laboratories. The findings and insights will be clustered and discussed in the whole group. In different settings all doctoral candidates and supervisors will discuss the potential of each specific landscape laboratory presentation for developing transferable evaluation criteria as well as transferable design strategies for Anthropocene landscape laboratories.

LANDLABS Conference
At the final LANDLABS conference, all research results will be presented and the conclusion of transferable design strategies for Anthropocene landscape laboratories will be discussed with external scientists and the public.
